China 65 - ORDINARY FOOD FROM AN ORDINARY RESTAURANT

Rating: 0.5 out of 5

China 65 is a very ordinary restaurant. There is nothing much to say about the ambience and décor. The restaurant offers nothing new in terms of concept. The place is uninteresting with regards to the food as well as the ambience. The use of the predominant colour red and oriental lanterns definitely announces the fact that it is a Chinese restaurant.

The menu offers the usual Chinese fare found in other restaurants. A glance at the menu reveals that they offer very limited veg and non veg starters. Nevertheless, along with the usual chilli baby corn and chilli potato (from the veg section) and chicken and seafood starters, they offer interesting lamb starters as well. For the main course, soups like hot and sour soup and lemon coriander soup are on offer for both veg and non veg customers.

As side dishes, you can choose from the many meat dishes that are cooked in a variety of sauces. Thus, you will get dishes like chicken or fish or prawn in black bean sauce, prawns in honey sauce, fish in mustard sauce and lamb cooked in Sichuan sauce. These can be had with their limited rice and noodles offerings.

Consistency is not their strong point. Both the food and the service need improvement. Food service is slow; food portions are small and their food standard is VERY low. The very limited options for Chinese food at City Centre 2 has left starving people with no other choice but to dine in such an average restaurant. It is definitely more expensive than other Chinese eateries that serve much, much better food at the price that this restaurant commands. The only advantage is that you can have your food in peace since it is never crowded.
