PREVIEW: PUNE WARRIORS INDIA Vs RAJASTHAN ROYALS ON MAY 8, 2012

52nd match of this season of IPL will be played between Pune Warriors and Rajasthan Royals on May 8, 2012 at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium, Pune. The match will start at 4.00 PM sharp and this is the first match of the day. This match is important for both the teams because both the teams are not in a very good position to get entry in the semi-final group. A win in this match can slightly turn the situation, even if not selected in semi-finals; one of the teams can be in an average position.
After losing five matches in a row, Pune Warriors India just collapsed into the 8th position in the Points Table. After performing in a superb way in their initial matches, the team started losing the matches miserably to be at the bottom of the table. Captain Saurav Ganguly headed his team in a perfect way but gradually inconsistency started to appear among the team players and these mistakes in the field took a huge toll of the team’s success. So far, Pune has played 12 matches and only 4 matches are left, including today’s match. To get entry in the play-offs, the team needs to win all these four matches which is really a touch thing for any team. However, Saurav’s team is ready to take the challenge and they are well prepared to face Rajasthan Royals in their home ground today to get the first win to begin this challenge in an excellent way.
Rajasthan Royals on the other hand, is also in a similar situation like Pune but obviously in a better position. Making a fabulous start, the team had been in the top position in the tally table but gradually the performance rate started to decline steeply and finally the team is residing in the 6th position. In comparison to Pune team, Rajasthan has many competent and good players but these ace players have been unsuccessful in giving explosive innings in this tournament. At the moment, the team is also looking for an entry in the play-offs and for that this team has five matches in hand. Among these five matches, the team needs at least three victories to confirm their entry. So there is a little bit less pressure over Rajasthan as compared to Pune.
So when both the teams are ready for a new phase of challenge to get qualified in the play-offs, the match seems to be very exciting and colorful with a lot of supporters for both Dada and Dravid.
