MATCH PREVIEW: PUNE WARRIORS V ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE- MAY 11, 2012

Pune Warriors India and Royal Challengers Bangalore will face each other on May 11, 2012 to play the 57th match of this IPL. This match will be played at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium, Pune at 8.00 PM IST. Although, the match will be played in front of the excited Pune home crowd, but Bangalore is in a favorable position because they are on the winning ride.

Already out of the playoffs, this match has no such importance for Pune Warriors India. Even if they win this match, there is no chance for Pune to get qualified in the playoffs but this win can bring some more points for the team so that they can leave this IPL with pride. In the beginning, many  strong teams of this IPL got a daunting defeat against this team but gradually as the tournament progressed, the lack of consistency and efficiency among the team players became prominent which gradually pushed Pune Warriors towards the bottom of the Points Table and finally out of the playoffs. None of the good batsmen in the team is in their regular form to throw a challenging score for the opponent and in the bowling squad, only Ashok Dinda came to the limelight. So if they are looking for a triumph tonight, they need to improve their performance in the field without repeating the earlier mistakes.

Four teams are competing for the fourth position in the playoffs- Chennai Super kings, Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Among these four teams, Bangalore is in a favorable position because from the 12 matches played so far, they have got 13 points whereas the other teams are lagging behind. If Bangalore can get a victory tonight, it can secure its fourth position for the time being and so today’s match is very important for Bangalore to smoothen their way towards playoffs. The team is studded with a number of explosive batsmen and among them Chris Gayle has already got his orange cap for scoring 515 runs from 10 matches. Apart from Gayle, Dilshan and Villiers are also outstanding. Although Pune is not a very strong opponent for Bangalore who has got three successive wins recently but still the latter is not ready to take Pune so lightly because one loss can take a huge toll for them.

Very important match for Bangalore but Pune will also try to restrict Bangalore because one win at this moment can bring a little pride for Dada’s team. So, let us all wait till the evening to see what happens in Pune ground- whether Dada can bounce back from their losing streak or Bangalore gets the fourth position in DLF IPL Standings 2012.
