Directed by Chris Fisher, Meeting Evil is
for those who like watching teeth chattering horror flick. You will find that
the killer in the movie is doing a bit of killing and a bit of explaining
behind his killing to the hero. Samuel L. Jackson has done a good job as the
killer; and Luke Wilson as the hero, who is dragged along by the killer
everywhere, has also done justice to his character. In fact, his performance is
really intense and he proves his mettle as an actor yet again. The film has
been shot well and all the violence that you get to watch in the movie is
really interesting to watch.
Wilson is not really an innocent man as in
the movie his character is one of those hero’s who has lost his job, is selfish
and is having an affair.
Luke Wilson has basically played the role
of man called John who on his birthday ends up losing his job in the real
estate industry. This will further make him lose his house. Wilson lies to his
wife Joanie (played by Leslie Bibb) as well as his two children. While John is
thinking of committing suicide, a stranger called Richie (Samuel L. Jackson)
appears from out of nowhere and knocks at his door, seeking assistance for his
car. This annoys John but he still helps him start his car. However, John soon finds
out that Richie is a serial killer who stalks innocent women and men and kills
them without showing any mercy to them.
Richie uses this opportunity to make John
realize that both of them are similar in many ways and that he should join him
in his killing spree. The film is full of twists and exciting turning points.
John soon realizes that he is not on the
right track. Unfortunately, by that time his former mistress (Peyton List) is
also forced into joining them on their wild killing and attacking spree. This
has no effect on John. Following this, Richie now diverts his attention to
john’s wife (Bibb) as well as his children.
The only thing that will confuse you about
the movie is why Richie decides to use John as his hostage and convinces him to
join him in murdering people. On the whole, if you like watching action and
thriller movies, then “Meeting Evil,” will definitely meet your expectations.
