MATCH PREVIEW: PUNE WARRIORS Vs MUMBAI INDIANS ON MAY 3, 2012

2012 IPL will complete its 45th match on May 3, 2012 but, there is still no lack of excitement among the IPL audience. This match is between Pune Warriors and Mumbai Indians which will be played at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium, Pune at 8.00PM sharp. Among the two teams, Mumbai is obviously in a better position but Pune is a potential team who can bounce back at any time to create a miracle.
Three successive losses for Pune Warriors India pushed the team to the penultimate position from one of the top positions in the tally table. Initially, the team proved themselves as one of the strongest teams of this IPL when they bagged one victory after another which also includes a match against Mumbai Indians and that too, the inaugural match for both the teams on April 6. Among the ten matches played so far, the team only got four victories. Standing at this position, the team needs to win all the remaining matches to get an entry in the semi-final level. Perhaps, absence of Ashok Dinda and Jesse Ryder is taking a toll on the team’s success rate. But, the rest of the players have to take the responsibility so that the team can bounce back and give a wonderful performance in the field tonight to defeat Mumbai Indians.
Last time when Mumbai Indians faced Pune Warriors in this tournament, the team suffered a disappointing loss but later, the team got back to its winning streak and at present Mumbai team is in the 3rd position in the DLF IPL Standings 2012 with five victories in pocket among the nine matches played so far. The team is in a good position but this season, there is a lack of inconsistency in this team which has failed to show any momentum in this tournament. Their top batsman, Sachin Tendulkar is not getting run in his bat this time, possibly because of his finger injury. The other batsmen, although contributed a lot in the entire series but they need to be more responsible to take the team score to a challenging level. Moreover, the bowlers also need to make an attacking strategy from the beginning because they are now aware of the trend of Pune team and also the loopholes they have created last time.
With a lot of excitement in today’s match and Mumbai looking for revenge against Pune, the evening can be for Mumbai or can also be in favor of Dada’s team. Here are the probable XIs for both the teams:
Pune Warriors: Sourav Ganguly(c), Manish Pandey, Michal Clarke, Marlon Samuels, Robin Uthappa(wk), Steven Smith, Wayne Parnell, Mithun Manhas, Murali Kartik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashish Nehra.
Mumbai Indians: Harbhajan Singh(c), Richard Levi, Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Dinesh Karthik(wk), James Franklin, Ambati Rayudu,  Robin Peterson,  Lasith Malinga, RP Singh, Munaf Patel.
