Hued in red, the cricket
ground at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore will look great on May 2, 2012 when
both the teams Royal
Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab will
face each other in the 44th match of 2012 IPL in their red jerseys.
The match is scheduled at 8.00 PM IST. Both the teams are eyeing for a victory in
this match as Royal Challengers Bangalore has been pushed back to fifth
position from the third rank after they lost their last match against Kolkata
and on the other hand, after defeating Chennai in their last match, Kings XI
Punjab is in a winning streak and is looking to bounce back.
Studded with a galaxy of
star players, Bangalore team has been unable to prove their efficiency in the
field in the last few matches. In their last match against Kolkata, only Gayle
was in his devastating form and there was not a single player to support him
while the team had to chase a challenging score of 190. The bowlers and
fielders were also not efficient to restrict the Kolkata batsmen. This
inconsistency among the team players had pushed back this glorious team to
fifth position. So, today’s match is a challenge for them to regain their
former position. Along with the foreign recruits like Gayle, Dilshan and
Villers, the domestic players have to provide enough support to them to pave
the way for a glorious triumph.
On the other hand, Kings XI
Punjab initiated their 2012 IPL innings with a disappointment but as the
tournament progressed, the team started bagging one after another victory.
Among the nine matches played, the team got four victories with 8 points in
hand. Standing in the penultimate position, the team is now looking for another
victory after defeating Chennai in their last match so that they can upgrade
their position in the table by collecting a few more points to avoid play-off.
In the absence of their Captain Gilchrist, David Hussey is leading the team in
a fabulous way and he is eyeing on another win today to retain the winning
spirit. Moreover, today’s win is also very important for this team to be in a
much better position.
Quite difficult to predict,
this match is an important one for both the team to avoid play-off chances in
this IPL. So, all IPL audience has to wait for another few hours to know
whether Vettori shares his winning joy or Hussey is riding the winning
position. Here are the probable XIs for both the squads:

Gayle, Virat Kohli , Saurabh Tiwary, AB de Villiers (wk), Andrew McDonald, Zaheer
