Theque The Foodwala

Rating: 3 out of 5

If you want to have Chinese food from a restaurant in Santoshpur, look no further than Theque The Foodwala. This place is recommended only for takeaway - they don’t offer a dine-in option. Acting on one of my friend’s recommendations, I went there and parcelled some items. The service was quick and everything was ready without having to wait for too long. The food is reasonably priced. The quantity and quality of their preparations are not to be doubted.

Soups like chicken Thai soup, chicken and hot and sour soup were well seasoned and bursting with flavour. The same though cannot be said for their sweet corn soup, which I feel requires more seasoning.

The Tibetan chicken momos (steamed) make a complete wholesome meal. Other starters that might tickle your taste buds and which you should not miss are crispy chicken, golden fried prawns and chicken gold coin. The crispness of the meat pieces will certainly impress you along with their succulent and juicy flesh.  The money that you spend on their side dishes is worthwhile. Chilli chicken, hot garlic chicken and Sichuan prawn are dishes that they seem to prepare well.
Staples like fried rice, Hakka chow and Mei foon should be the norm here. They do not leave a heavy feeling in your stomach and are wonderful non-oily options.

They also offer both veg and non veg combo meals at affordable rates. The quality and quantity of such meals should leave you full.
