Gorge in to the super spicy delicacies at Halum’s

Rating: 3 out of 5

A small food joint which is not too well known but is immensely popular among JU students and locals, Halum’s serves some super spicy and delicious Chinese and Indian cuisine at pocket-friendly rates. Situated on North Road in Jadavpur, I have seen diners really gorge into some exotic food ‘halum-halum’ style.

It is a little eatery with a very simple ambience and limited seating arrangements – it’s better to call this a takeaway joint. It’s such a small restaurant but has a wide variety of options to satiate individual needs of different types of diners. Their Chicken Tandoori and Kababs are good and are prepared in a unique style with the use of various types of herbs and spices. Of the types we tried, the reshmi malai kabab and Afghani kabab were the best. The chickens in the kababs were so soft and juicy and cooked to perfection.

Another item that I loved here when I last ate here was their Szechwan Noodles. Very tasty (and VERY spicy!), my experience at Halum’s has always been good, though I recently heard that this food joint has temporarily shut down… best to call ahead before trying it out.
