Little Tangra truly goes with its name

Rating: 3 out of 5

When you are about to write a restaurant review, the primary thing that I like to focus on is the quality and quantity of food served. Service, ambience and rates are also important but it is the food that clinches it for me. If a restaurant achieves its primary goal flawlessly then one needs to consider it a highly rated restaurant and give it due credit. The same goes with Little Tangra, which is relatively a small food joint located on Raja Subodh Chandra Mullick Road at Garia. I walked into this place purely by accident.

Little Tangra is a restaurant in the true sense as it never compromises with its food quality, no matter how much it lags in ambience compared to other eating hubs near it. There is nothing much to talk about its ambience (hence the 3 out of 5 rating) because although this food joint provides dine-in options the seating arrangements are very poor. The only good thing about its ambience is that the place is clean and maintains basic hygiene. I would suggest – opt for take-away.

Now, if anyone considers this a huge drawback they will surely miss a great chance to pacify their taste buds with some awesome Chinese preparations. I did this the first time I was there, but when I tasted their preparations, my notion about this place changed and I have now become a die-hard fan of this restaurant. The credit for this goes to the chef of this simple restaurant. Many top rated Chinese restaurants will come up short when it comes to food when compared this relative less popular and small food joint.

Try their Szechwan Fried Rice (chicken or veg) with Hunan Chicken; you will fall in love with this combination. Some other delectable preparations include Roasted Chilli Chicken, Fish Manchurian, Golden Fried Prawn, Chicken in Black Bean Sauce and Singapore Rice Noodles. Apart from experiencing top class culinary art, you won’t mind paying the meagre amounts they charge. Try some take-away from Little Tangra for some nice authentic Chinese!
