PREVIEW: KINGS XI PUNJAB V ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE ON APRIL 20, 2012

Today, on April 20, 2012, the 25th match of this season’s IPL will be played where; Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore will confront each other at Punjab Cricket Stadium, Chandigarh at 8.00 PM. Both the teams are standing exactly at the same position with a slight difference in the NRR. Among the 5 matches played till date in this IPL, both the teams have lost 3 matches and won 2. So standing on the same platform, it is quite difficult to predict which team will take the 2 points to upgrade their position.
Kings XI Punjab has got a victory at Eden Gardens against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 15, 2012 but when they confronted the same team in their home ground on April 18, they were defeated by Kolkata by 8 wickets. Kolkata restricted Punjab score within 124 and then took advantage of their bowling and ended up the match by bagging another victory. While analyzing the batting and bowling performance of Punjab, it was noticed that neither their batting nor their bowling was attacking to create a pressure on the opponent team. If the same performance level goes on for Bangalore team, then it is a matter of threat for the team.
However, Royal Challengers Bangalore with a number of maestro players in the team has failed to prove their capability in this season. Standing in the 8th position of the Points Table, just above the Deccan Chargers, the team needs to bag two or three upcoming matches to be in a stable position in this tournament. When Punjab will take the advantage of their home ground, Bangalore will surely look forward to have another incredible Gayle storm that they have experienced in their last match against Pune team. On that night Gayle has made 81 from 50 balls with an outstanding over of 31 from 6 balls bowled by Rahul Sharma. His contribution was an excellent one and helped his team to chase a good score of 183. So if Gayle is again back with his outstanding performance along with Dilshan, Willers and others, it will be quite difficult for Punjab to get their victory.
