Preview: Denmark Vs Germany in Euro 2012

This is the second match of the day which is also the last group stage match for Group B teams where Denmark and Germany will encounter at Arena Lviv, Lviv on June 17, 2012. Germany, being the group's leading scorer, is heading towards the next round with two more contenders standing on the same platform- Portugal and Denmark. Denmark is also a potential team in this tournament, so when two such strong contenders are meeting head to head, the match will surely turn to be a challenging and impressive one.

Making an impressive start in this tournament by defeating Netherlands on the first match, Denmark was pushed back in the second match when they were defeated by Portuguese squad after giving a consistent performance. This narrow loss set their campaign in a tough position because to get qualified in the next round, they have to get a win in this match. A draw or a loss will probably not do any good for this team. On the other side, Portugal's condition in the other match will also help to determine Denmark's fate in this tournament. However, if both of these contenders lose their respective matches and then, with equal points in hand, the qualification will be based on goal difference. Denmark's attack is very strong which they have clearly exposed in their previous match against Portugal. Nicklas Bendtner and Christian Eriksen are veteran strikers who can easily upset the opponent's team.

Germany, on the other side, the winner of three championship titles are heading towards another one has made an excellent start to this tournament with two of two wins. This team has been a pre-tournament favourite this time because of their excellent performance level. They are almost standing at the verge of the quarter final but their fortune can turn aside if the other two contenders of this group get a win and one of those wins will be achieved after defeating German squad which at this point seems to be impossible. Legendary striker Bastian Schweinsteiger and outstanding midfielder Mesut Ozil have been superb in the field with overall attack doing magnificently. However, their defence is a subject to worry for the team because the co-ordination in the defensive pairs is lagging which is hurting the team's performance. But in this tournament, they have managed to save all goals except one made by the Dutch striker Robin van Persie.

With German squad seems to be unstoppable, the bookies like Paddy Power, Bedfred, Bet365 and William Hills are offering odds of 8/11, 7/10, 8/11 and 4/6 for German win respectively and all of them are offering 5 for Dutch victory except Bet365 who is offering 9/2. For a draw score line, all are offering 12/5 except Betfred who is offering 5/2.
